About this Software
-------------------
Playmac for Sound Blaster is an automated sound playback shell
written in the same style as Instant Access written by Dale Chun,
David Komatsu and Nathan Chua. This program requires an AdLib or
compatible driver to playback the ROL (eg. Roland) files. If you
like a copy of an AdLib driver (released as shareware by an
independent the author), please contact us at any of the address-
es listed at the end of this documentation.

System Requirements
-------------------
Playmac for Sound Blaster will run on any IBM AT, PS/2, /286,
/386 or 100% compatibles equipped with either a Hercules (or
compatible) video card or any PS/2 (or compatible) color graphics
card. It will automatically detect a monochrome or a color card
and adjust the display accordingly. However, it will not work
with a monochrome monitor connected to a color graphics card.
Starting Up
-----------
Located on your distribution disk or within the zip file is the
executable file, PLAYMAX.EXE. This file can be renamed by using
the 'rename' command and Playmac for Sound Blaster will adjust
the help screen accordingly (eg. 'playmax ?'). To begin, type
'playmax' (this is not case sensitive) followed by the RETURN or
the ENTER key. The Playmac for Sound Blaster screen should appear
along with a list of any AdLib or TrakBlaster sounds that can be
located in the current subdirectory, in the C:\ADLIB or C:\TRAK-
BLASTER subdirectories. For more information after program in-
stallation, type 'PLAYMAX ?' or 'PLAYMAX HELP'.
Be aware that Playmac for Sound Blaster looks for two files on
the C:\ADLIB and on the C:\TRAKBLASTER subdirectories. These
files are named PLAYROL.EXE and PLAY.EXE which is available upon
request from the addresses listed at the end of this documenta-
tion file. These are the sound playback routines used by Playmac
for Sound Blaster and have been released shareware by another,
independent author.
After the Playmac for Sound Blaster screen appears, selections
can be changed with the arrow keys, the space bar, or the back-
space key. The selected sample will be played after pressing the
RETURN or ENTER key.
The vertical highlight bar can be changed with the arrow keys,
the Page Up/Down keys or by pressing the first letter of your
desired file.
